MacKenzie Bezos
Noted for being the ex-wife of Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, this American author is also known for her work as a writer (who himself became the richest person on the planet in 2018). Although she is a California native, the author of “The Testing of Luther Albright”, a book that won her an American Book Award in 2006, has received recognition for her own work. Traps is another book by her. In April 2019, her divorce settlement was completed. She received Amazon shares worth $35.6 billion.
JK Rowling
Her Harry Potter series has made her one of the wealthiest private persons in the United Kingdom. Before she became one of the world’s richest authors, JK Rowling was a researcher and English teacher. A genuine rags to riches story, Rowling was on welfare in 1990 when she is said to have come up with the magical world during a train trip. They have been translated into 65 languages and have made over $7.7 billion in the Harry Potter films alone (not including merchandising).
James Patterson
Patterson is an American author best known for his Alex Cross series of psychological thrillers, which he began publishing in 1976. A brilliant storyteller, he has branched out into non-fiction, young adult, and romantic novels, all of which have sold more than 300 copies, both domestically and internationally. The Guinness World Record for the most hardback fiction volumes sold by a single author is 76, and the New York Times record for the most bestselling hardcover fiction titles is also his. He has written 95 books.
Jim Davis
With his Garfield comic strips featuring a mischievous and wisecracking cat, his owner Jon Arbuckle, and Odie, Jon’s adorably naive dog, Davis is arguably the richest cartoonist in history. When it comes to syndicated strips, Davis’s Garfield is the most well-known; he continues to produce stories for the characters, including for a new CGI series.
Candy Spelling
American heiress, author, socialite, and businesswoman, Spelling is many things. The 90210 zip code, where she was born and reared, has since been made famous by her husband, Aaron Spelling, who died in 2006. In addition to writing for LA Confidential and the Huffington Post, Spelling is the author of a New York Times bestseller, “Stories from Candyland.”
Matt Groening
The Simpsons, which he created and produced for television, has made him a household name among cartoonists and authors worldwide (the longest-running primetime-television series in history). When he initially arrived in Los Angeles in 1977 at the age of 23, he had to take regular day jobs to help support his fledgling career as a writer.
Rose Kennedy
Rose Kennedy (yes, of the Kennedy family) was an American philanthropist and socialite who published a book titled Times to Remember in 1974. Little evidence exists to substantiate the commonly held belief that she was the product of illicit bootlegging by members of her family. A wealthy investor who left the stock market just in time for the 1929 crash, Joe Kennedy reportedly gained the most of his money following prohibition by engaging in legal booze importation and distribution.
